Fettuccine Carbonara: A Homemade Classic



Fettuccine Carbonara is a creamy and indulgent pasta dish that combines the richness of eggs and Parmesan cheese with the savory flavor of bacon. It's a classic Italian recipe that's quick and easy to make at home.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions:

Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente

Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta

In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute

In a bowl, whisk together eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of black pepper

Add cooked pasta to the skillet with bacon and garlic

Toss to combine

Remove skillet from heat

Quickly pour the egg and cheese mixture over the pasta, stirring constantly to coat the pasta evenly

Add reserved pasta water gradually to create a creamy sauce

Season with salt and additional black pepper to taste

Garnish with chopped parsley if desired

Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired
